When Trish Strom left a nursing job she loved at Denver Children’s and returned home to North Dakota, she didn’t expect she’d stay long. “I decided I’d give it a try for a year, largely because my family is here, but I really didn’t think I’d find much career-wise,” she says. “What a surprise MeritCare was! My first job at MeritCare was in Children’s Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. I was just amazed at the access to technology, the training and compassion for caring, the great people I worked with, and the opportunities. There’s a rich intellectual environment here that I never imagined.”
